eGov Services
Electronic (Online) Government Services
Mudud Centers
Awan Foundation plans to open eGov services centers under the name Mudud Centers in rural areas of Pakistan with following objectives:
Use simple and user-friendly interfaces: Electronic government services should be designed with simple and easy-to-use interfaces that can be easily understood by less educated people.
2. Offer training programs: Technology centers could offer training programs to educate illiterate people on how to use electronic government services. These programs could be conducted in local languages and be supported by visual aids.
3. Provide access to hardware: Most rural areas lack basic hardware such as computers or smartphones. Technology centers could provide access to these devices at low cost or offer them on a rental basis.
4. Use mobile applications: With the growth of mobile technology, mobile applications can be used to deliver electronic government services to rural areas. This approach would require minimal investment in infrastructure and could reach remote areas.
5. Collaborate with local government officials: Technology centers could partner with local government officials to raise awareness and promote the use of electronic government services in rural areas. This partnership could also help to identify specific needs and challenges faced by the rural population.
In conclusion, offering low-cost electronic government services to illiterate people in rural areas is a challenging task. However, with the right approach and technology, it is possible to overcome this challenge and provide valuable services to underserved communities.
