Our Philosophy
OUR MISSION & PHILOSOPHY
The Awan Foundation Story
Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much
- To identify committed and trust-worthy social entrepreneurs on the ground who are experts in their respective fields.
- People who can generate financially-viable, innovative program ideas and take responsibility for their implementation.
- Build on the work of existing organizations and / or individuals through strategic partnerships.
We intend to achieve objectives in the following manner:
Short Term
To provide quality education and healthcare services to under-privileged communities at affordable prices.
Medium Term
To reduce unemployment through technical and vocational skills training programs for young women of low-income families specifically in the rural areas of Pakistan.
Long Term
To contribute toward economic development by expanding the middle class and creating new products, markets, and employment opportunities.
As an example, educational programs of AF are implemented under the leadership of Mrs. Zahida Tasneem, a highly-respected educationalist and social worker in Rawalpindi. Mrs. Balouch has worked very closely with various primary schools in the Rawalpindi Cantt area and have been supporting them by School Supplies Program since 2013.
Similarly, the idea of setting up Awan Dialysis Centers (ADC) has been conceived, and the first ADC will be inaugurated very soon in collaboration with Al-Mustafa Foundation in Mandra, Punjab. Al-Mustafa Trust (https://almustafatrust.org.pk/) is an established network of medical centers and dispensaries in rural and urban poor habitations of Pakistan.
